Founded over a century ago, it is one of the oldest park districts in Illinois. The Park District of Highland Park operates and manages over 600 acres of land in 44 park areas and offers approximately 2,800 recreational and seasonal programs. Facilities include an indoor ice arena, indoor tennis and racquetball complex, a recreation center, a nature center, an 18-hole golf course, aquapark, beaches, boat launch ramp and yacht club on Lake Michigan. Our mission is to enrich community life through healthy leisure pursuits and an appreciation of the natural world.
The Park District serves over 30,000 residents in the City of Highland Park, Illinois and a small portion of the Village of Deerfield and is located approximately 25 miles north of Chicago.
