Job Description

The Village of Clarendon Hills, population 8,427, seeks candidates for the position of Assistant to the Village Manager.

The Assistant to the Village Manager serves as a key member of the Village’s management team, working with each department of the Village on special projects, managing the Village’s Human Resources and Risk Management programs, overseeing the Village’s special events, managing the Village’s IT contract and administering the Village’s public outreach efforts.

An ideal candidate would have excellent writing, analytical, communication, and organizational skills, and be knowledgeable of public administration and human resources.  Strong social media skills and public relations skills are preferred.  A Bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science or a related field is required, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration is strongly preferred.  Candidates are expected to have at least two to five years of practical professional experience with a municipal government.

This is an exempt position, working 40 hours per week. Pay range is $55,226 to $73,635.  An offer will be made to the preferred candidate based on their current pay and qualifications. Benefits include participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, health insurance, and paid holidays vacation, and sick leave. The Village is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
